Embark on an unforgettable 5-day adventure in Tanzania, combining thrilling wildlife safaris with immersive cultural experiences. This tour takes you to world-famous national parks like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll witness the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) in their natural habitat.

Itinerary

Day 1Arusha → Tarangire National Park

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2 Tarangire → Lake Eyasi (Hadza & Datoga Tribes)

Early morning drive to Lake Eyasi (~2 hrs)
Visit the Hadzabe bushmen: join a traditional bow-and-arrow hunt
Visit the Datoga blacksmiths, learn about metalworking and traditional dress
Overnight: Lake Eyasi safari lodge or cultural camp
 
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 3Lake Eyasi → Ngorongoro Crater

Drive to Ngorongoro and descend into the crater floor for a full game drive
Spot rhinos, lions, elephants, and hippos in this lush volcanic caldera
Overnight: Lodge on crater rim or in Karatu
 
Meals: Breakfast, lunch (picnic), dinner
 

Day 4 Ngorongoro → Lake Manyara National Park

Morning game drive in Lake Manyara (famous for tree-climbing lions and flamingos)
Optional: Visit Mto wa Mbu village for a banana plantation or market walk
Afternoon rest at lodge or explore local culture further
Overnight: Lodge near Lake Manyara
 
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 5Return to Arusha & Departure

Leisurely breakfast
Optional stop at Maasai boma for final cultural experience
